A movie based on the book about the life of Mötley Crüe by Netflix.
After all the promo about this movie I saw passing by on Facebook & Instagram by the lovely people behind the fan pages of Sixx:AM (another band with Nikki Sixx), I had to take a look of course.
Friday, 22nd of March, the movie came out on Netflix, a Friday evening, so the right time to watch a movie!
Let’s be honest here, I’m not a fan of this band at all, I like a song or 3 / 4 but that’s about it… In my mind I made up an opinion already, but after watching this movie, I can honestly say, I was SO wrong! I enjoyed it a LOT!!!
The introduction of the band members one by one was a nice thing for someone who knows their names, but never looked any further… Getting to know them a bit, seeing where they came from and where they were going. I’m sure the Crüeheads might think differently as I’m sure the band has almost no secrets to them… This movie for sure shows the whole “sex drugs & rock ‘n roll” way of living but that is how they experienced it, I’m sure not all bands live that way…
At some point, I caught myself thinking it would have been cool to be a teenager back then and live in L.A. or that area to experience the whole thing.
The movie shows fun, sad & hard parts of what they have lived through. There were parts I didn’t even know that happened.
I think for the fans it might be a like it or hate it movie. Opinions will differ for sure, for me it left a good impression. And I’m sure I will watch it again at some point!
One last thing to say, as a HUGE Game of Thrones fan, I was so excited to see that Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton), was playing the role of Mick Mars!
